🧵 From Greek Life to Growth: The Story of The Press Company

The Press Company wasn’t built overnight. It grew from a college business project, an Etsy side hustle, and a shared passion for entrepreneurship, creativity, and community.

Founded by husband-and-wife team Oliver and Jeanelle Ignacio, The Press Company is more than a custom apparel brand—we’re a movement rooted in identity, legacy, and representation. Whether you're celebrating your graduation, repping your letters, or launching your own brand, we exist to help you wear your story with pride.

🎓 A Senior Project That Sparked a Path

The journey began at Cal Poly Pomona, where Oliver—a business student and proud member of Delta Sigma Pi—launched a senior project with a group of classmates to sell custom Greek products on campus. The concept was simple: connect with the Greek community through products that felt meaningful and personal.

While the original group eventually went their separate ways, the experience ignited Oliver’s long-term interest in entrepreneurship and the custom merchandise space. It planted the seed for what would later become The Press.

🩺 From Scrubs to Side Hustle

Years later, Oliver introduced Jeanelle—then a full-time registered nurse and critical care educator—to a direct-to-garment (DTG) printing machine. Always drawn to creative projects and business-building, Jeanelle saw an opportunity to serve a niche she knew well: nurses.

She launched her own Etsy shop selling nurse-themed shirts—rooted in her own experience as a healthcare professional and proud member of Sigma Theta Tau. When that first Etsy sale came in, the lightbulb went off—and her journey into custom apparel officially began.

🚀 Growing The Press Company

With complementary strengths, Jeanelle and Oliver teamed up to grow what would become The Press Company. Jeanelle used her background in sales and education to drive growth—securing large university accounts, expanding into eCommerce, and building relationships with Greek organizations, nonprofits, and small businesses.

Meanwhile, Oliver focused on operations, production, and strategy—bringing a steady foundation to the creative energy that fueled the business.

Together, they transformed a small idea into a growing apparel company headquartered in Pomona, California—focused on creating merch that means something.
